Stress Management Seminar Offers Long-Term Stress Relief in the Workplace

Fairfield, CT (PRWEB) March 14, 2005

If all the stress remedies out there are so effective, why is everyone still stressed out? That’s the problem a recently developed stress management program was designed to overcome: the lack of follow-up, the almost inevitable lapsing back into stressful ways.

Created and presented by internationally known author and stress management consultant G. Gaynor McTigue, the innovative program endeavors to rid employees’ lives of needless stress, anxiety and clutter in two important phases. The first is a compelling two-hour stress reduction workshop in which McTigue arms participants with a wide array of effective stress management techniques. More than just relieve stress, the strategies are aimed at actually reversing the stressful habits and mindsets workers develop on the job and in other areas of their lives.

Equally important is phase two. To prevent a relapse into stressful habits over time, participants are invited to receive new and refresher stress relief techniques by email each weekday. These daily stress tips, which McTigue currently sends out to thousands of enthusiastic recipients worldwide, provide the needed tools and motivation to stay stress-free.

“Stress in the workplace is at epidemic levels,” says McTigue, “and costs in many ways, including poor job performance, mistakes, accidents, absenteeism, higher health insurance premiums, job dissatisfaction, burnout, and high turnover. “My one-two-punch program can be extremely helpful in solving these problems.”

This unique stress management approach is based on McTigue’s acclaimed book “Why Make Yourself Crazy” Â? which was featured on the cover of Publishers Weekly, quoted in Woman’s Day Magazine and other publications, and discussed on talk shows across America. Overcoming Workplace Stress

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Stress and an occasional feeling of overwhelm is a natural byproduct of a successful business. Yes, we are fortunate to have all the opportunities this business for us. And yes, sometimes it is impossible to make wise use of our time and resources. Thus, the result is inevitable: Stress! We distinguish between primary, the situation, the stress of short-term and long-term levels of accumulated stress. The purpose of this paper is to help you immediately with the first type of stress. To give you the tools you already have, but we all do not use enough. In addition, my High-Impact Business Coaching Form allows you to grow successful businesses while creating rich, balanced lives and eliminate the second type of long, very damaging stress. But it’s not overnight that any transformation takes time, effort and commitment. So this article is to help you find instant relief. To find ways to bust your sense of “too-well-done” immediately, within seconds. I’ll start with a statement a little strange: “Believe and you will see.” This concept seems odd, now part of a highly successful Stress Reduction at the Stanford School of Medicine of the University. For continuing education, I recommend “Stress Free for Good” – 10 life skills scientifically proven health and happiness “by Dr. Fred Luskin and Dr. Kenneth Pelletier. An interesting fact about the mind is that the brain has absolutely no actual connection to reality. It relies on chemical signals from other organs to decide what happens in the real world. The fact that the brain is ignoring the reality, that is precisely what makes him so susceptible to suggestion. Harvard Professor Jonathan B. Cohen has shown that imagining the execution of an activity, and even just to see someone run, the fires of same neurotransmitters and the same way that actually performs the activity “In sports, visualization has been considered an essential tool for decades. In a 1984 survey of 235 Canadian Olympians who are preparing for the Games, 99 percent of them were from images. “There is nobody who does not use images,” said Rebecca Smith, an assistant clinical research in sport psychology at the Olympic Training Center U.S. Colorado. No professional athlete has ever won the top spot coming into view by the last and yet we do so often in our business. Since the principle is called “Seeing the good in others,” this that comes to mind for you? The saying is old, but listen again: “Seeing the good in others”, is about to see in your eyes, is not it? How many times do we prefer to blame others for our stress? How many times do we like talking behind someone better find the good in others? So then how does this affect our leadership capabilities? Since the concept of “seeing the good in others” coincides with the fifth chapter in my book: The Art of Success by Design “, which deals with leadership, it is not surprising that our ability to see the good in others is a trait highly effective as a leader of your small business. Why? Well, think about it. If we let go of our regular trends trial and take a 100% commitment to take responsibility for our lives (which means no blame, always), coupled with the ability to see the best qualities of our team members, what can we do? Yes, you can see different results. Why, because our change of attitude, change our thoughts, our body language changes. Those who work for you feel safe and where the feeling of security, there is no limit to creativity and productivity. Have you noticed the disabling effects of stress on the performance of your? It is no different for your staff. They also stressed, and even more stressed when you feel criticized and judged. It hinders their ability to work in their area higher performance for you. I suppose you determine what I am proposing here. Yes, a win-win! Seeing the good in others helps your stress level down since you continue to trust that things done and everyone does his best, your positive actions based on this attitude a big influence your brain, and that a crucial consequence your employees or support staff can continue working in a stress free environment by giving their best to turn turn. Secret Number 1: Practice your compassion. Put yourself in their shoes for just a second. Do you really know what happens in their lives? Do you know if they are deadly afraid of losing their jobs? Do you know if they feel empowered and equipped to do their job properly? What do you know about their fear of battle of life? This does not mean being soft and reduce your level of performance. No, quite the contrary. By opening towards an environment where fear and stress is not the engine, you invest your time wisely. Having a staff that lives with stress and fear is a waste of your money. Nothing is done, no new ideas come up, no responsibility is taken when the fear and stress present. If you want to create a team that is loyal, productive, innovative and equipped for your business to succeed in a climate where a team of A + will be harder and harder to find, your efforts to practice compassion is essential for sustainable business success. Ok, with that road, I want to give you another secret of 10 seconds: He smiled. Yes, you heard me, smiling. So smile right now, hold for 10 seconds. Really smile, laugh! you feel better, what I do. If it makes you feel better, how do you think the recipient feels that smile? How do you feel when you meet someone who just for fun, throw you a smile? “Yes, I thought… very good. Ok, practice compassion and smile more often more random, more just for fun, then good for business, good for employee retention and good for your stress management. The funny thing is that you knew that already, right? We and yet sometimes we forget. That’s because we’re stressed. Yes, that’s why. One of my customers reported that it has attracted a lot “nicer” customers for his change of attitude and another customer said “seeing the good in people” has significantly reduced anxiety. Remember, as far as Napoleon Hill, famous author of “Think and Grow Rich” said: “Man alone has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality, man alone can dream and make his dreams. “As they say: The war is not the path to peace, peace is. Do not let your thoughts take you to a war zone driven by fear and doubt. Let your attitude, you guide the thoughts that makes you feel connected, and you can reduce your stress levels and make other people feel safe and cared for. There is no possible negative results and many powerful results. Do we need scientific evidence to that? No, just give it a try tonight to check-out line at the store or smile to someone at a red light, especially when you feel tired, burned, fog in the head. I can promise that even a brief smile back allowing your attitude at home with your family or friends. Do not waste a minute of practice all the above or maybe just one but do it and do often. Antistress is guaranteed.

Workplace Stress Relief – 4 Powerful Reasons to Conquer Job Stress Now

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Workplace stress relief is critical in today’s demanding job environment. According to The American Institute of Stress, “Job stress is by far the major source of stress for American Adults. ” Lack of security, doing the jobs of many people, conflicts with coworkers or bosses and working too many hours are just a few of issues today’s workers face.

The toll workplace stress takes on well-being is widespread. It affects all areas of your life. Not feeling in control of your job adds to the mix. You can work hard, add value to your company, take work home with you and never take a day off. If your company is in transition, there is nothing you can do to secure your job.

The lack of control, tension, uncertainty and exhaustion leads to chronic stress. Workplace stress relief is crucial to stave off the wear and tear caused by these conditions. Conquering the effects of job stress can also keep them from spilling over into other areas of your life. Are you experiencing these conflicts?

1) Failing relationships – Everyone (at times) takes their job stress home with them. Your family is the first ones to see the depression and feel the anger you are experiencing. Coworkers and friends are also victims of your negativity and distance.

2) Failing physical health – Muscle aches, pain, headaches, digestive problems, heart conditions, insomnia and exhaustion are the major physical complaints caused by chronic stress. Inflammation, a component of arthritis, diabetes and cancer, is also a by-product of stress.

3) Failing mental health – Depression, agitation, fear and hopelessness come from experiencing workplace stress day in and day out. The accompanying fatigue makes it difficult to climb out of the pit of doom and gloom.

4) Onset of burnout – Burnout is the culmination of excessive job stress. You have reached a state of apathy. You are unmotivated and hopeless. Workplace stress relief will help get you through your workday. However, if you have reached a point of burnout, you desperately need a new job.

Workplace stress relief techniques can help to relieve the issues caused by job stress. Many techniques can be used right at your desk while you are working. You won’t have to take out your frustrations on your family, friends and coworkers. Your physical and mental health will greatly improve by lessening your workplace stress. More importantly, you will be less likely to succumb to job burnout.
