Tips For Stress Free Air Travel

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Traveling by air comes with its own challenges and is often stressful.  Your goal is to experience stress-free air travel.  You are allowed a carry-on  bag so why not pack a little bit  of home to make your airline journey more comfortable and stress-free.

Things to consider taking along for stress-free air travel:

1.             Hygiene during stress-free air travel : It’s not something we might want to think about, but the truth is:  germs are lurking everywhere on an airplane.  Take sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer (3 oz. or smaller) with you to help you have stress-free air travel.  Wipe surfaces you touch such as seat handles and pull-down trays.  Also, use sanitary wipes if you go into the airplane’s bathroom on any surfaces you touch.  Use hand sanitizer before eating and again after exiting the air craft.  A bit of prevention could keep you healthy during your trip or vacation and definitely help you have stress-free air travel .

2.             Nutritious snacks for stress-free air travel: Food or snacks are not always available on airplanes.  Once you get through the security gate take a few minutes to purchase yourself something to snack on.  Fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) are normally available in the airport.  Protein or granola bars are also a good choice to help keep your energy up and hunger down and to help ensure you have stress-free air travel.

3.             Reading material during stress-free air travel: Take a book or magazine with you.  By having something to read, you can keep yourself busy and occupied during your stress-free air travel.  If you like to do crossword puzzles or word search, take along a book of them to help entertain you.  If you forget to pack these items, they will be available in the airport.

4.             Electronic items on your stress-free air travel: Another way to entertain yourself and experience stress-free air travel would be by having your iPod, laptop, etc. with you.  You can listen to music or watch DVD’s to help for your entertainment or to drown out noisy children.  Just make sure you are considerate of those around you by using your headsets.  That helps made sure everyone has stress-free air travel!

5.             Personal reflection during your stress-free air travel: Take your journal or a notebook with you.  This is a perfect time to do some goal setting and/or personal reflection.  Write your thoughts down and use this time to reflect and plan.  This is a great way to help ensure that you have stress-free air travel.

6.             Personal comfort and relaxation while experiencing stress-free air travel: Being in such close and dry (airplanes are very dry) quarters has its own challenges.  Pack small items like lip balm, eye drops, and nasal spray.  Drink plenty of water while in flight.  Have a small blanket or some kind of wrap with you that you can use for warmth in a cool plane.  If it is too warm you have a make-shift pillow to rest your head on while enjoying stress-free air travel.  Listen to your favorite relaxing music.  You might even  be relaxed enough during  your stress-free air travel that you are able to a snooze while in the air!

By packing some “comforts from home” in your carry-on bag, you can experience relaxing and  stress-free air travel.

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Panic attacks can be very problematic, especially when they accompany the anxiety and stress. This is a result of production as well as the underutilization of epinephrine. When the anxiety response is not useful for the adrenaline, it can result in the development of a specific group of physical reactions that can reach its highest level with a panic attack.

This type of response is quite natural and physical. It has nothing to do with a physical or mental illness or even a chemical imbalance in the body. However, it can be quite threatening to the individual.

Fortunately, there are many strategies that can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress.

Here are some effective strategies to reduce anxiety and stress symptoms:

a) Tip One – Each time you feel an attack coming on you panic and start fast breathing, breathe slowly. You need to breathe in and out of brown paper. You can also put your hands to do.

b) Tip Two – Make some changes to your lifestyle. Exercise regularly. This will allow you to burn higher levels of adrenaline. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes as far as you can. Meals should be taken at regular intervals and processed foods and beverages should be avoided completely. This will help stabilize levels of blood sugar.

c) Three Tip – Never make an attempt to recover from a panic attack. The fight will be nothing more than improving your adrenaline. The best thing to do is accept your feelings and symptoms that do what they want. Experts recommend practicing a fantasy where you are floating on the symptoms. This will help to calm the panic.

d) Tip Four – Do not limit your emotions. More you the most severe problems that you encounter most. It is important to find someone in your life to tell? You can also see a counselor in this regard.

e) Tip Five – You need to focus on outside of yourself during an attack. You can try to play music to divert your attention or engage in a pleasant task when waiting for the panic to subside.

f) Tip Six – Learn relaxation techniques. This is one of effective techniques you can practice. Initially close your eyes and begin breathing slowly and deeply. You need to identify areas of tension and imagine the fields disappear. Relax every part of your body gradually. You must begin to relax feet high. Try to think of the warmth and heaviness. After twenty minutes, you can enjoy some stretching and breathing.

g) Tip Seven – Do you understand that all the symptoms you are experiencing are the result of more sensitive nervous system. Remember that these feelings are temporary and not harmful medically.

h) Tip Eight – You should reduce your exposure to stress. Try to express your needs to others.
