			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are you under a lot of stress? If you also have some of the worrisome symptoms listed below, chances are that you’re badly in need of relief.  Meanwhile, you may feel too guilty to take a break.  Don’t be.  They’d have to do without you if you were to get sick, wouldn’t they?  Don’t let it come to that.</p>
<p>And since there’s nothing quite so convincing as physical warning signs, here are seven key physical symptoms that are among the first ones you’ll notice. Which ones do you have?</p>
<p>1.  Do you find that your mouth is dry or do you have a lump in your throat?  It may be a cliché, but it’s a cliché for a reason:  when you’re stressed, your mouth becomes really dry.  And a dry mouth makes it difficult to swallow anything but liquids.  It’s even bad for your teeth.</p>
<p>2.  Is there something in your life that’s a pain in the neck?  Tense, tight muscles, especially neck and shoulder muscles are another important symptom of stress.  To some of us it may seem like those painfully tense muscles are normal.  They’re not.</p>
<p>3.  Do you get a lot of headaches?  While headaches can have a variety of causes, there’s one particular type that’s aptly named “tension headache.”  If the onset of your headaches correlates with periods of intense stress, you know what to do.</p>
<p>4.  Numbness &#038; tingling in limbs.  You may not have realized that these can be caused by too much stress.  I didn’t know either until I read it during my research for this article, but it makes sense. In fact, I was relieved to read that because my arms have been tingling and occasionally getting numb for a while and I was worried that it might be something serious.  Well, guess what!  Stress IS serious.</p>
<p>5.  Are you tired all the time?  Do you find you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning?  Chronic fatigue, exhaustion, and low energy are the inevitable result of excess stress for prolonged periods of time.</p>
<p>6.  Do you have trouble falling asleep or sleeping long enough?  Once again, this could be a sign of too much stress.  And since sleep is so crucial for recovery, stress-induced insomnia often starts a vicious cycle.</p>
<p>7. Are you overweight?  Especially with fat primarily accumulating on the belly?  For the longest time, people used to think that stress causes weight loss, not weight gain.  That may be true for some, but most of us tend to put on the pounds.  Cortisol, the stress hormone, literally causes the body to accumulate the wobbly stuff right up front and center and makes it almost impossible to take it back off.</p>
<p>How many of the above do you have?  One?  Slow down and take more breaks.  Three?  You’re definitely in the danger zone.  All seven?  Red zone alert! <br/><br/></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you have certain medical symptom such as hypertension, diabetes, rapid or irregular heart beats, and so on, your doctor may request that you take a stress test. Normal heart test such as listening through a stethoscope, taking heart beat and blood pressure, etcetera, cannot detect many heart problems. The reason is that most of these test are given while the patient is at rest. Many problems of the heart and circulatory system only manifest themselves when under stress. <br/><br/>Cardiac stress tests are normally only given to patients meeting certain heart risk criteria. These criteria would be those patients who are most at risk for coronary problems. This includes those with hypertension, diabetes, patients with a family history of heart problems, people who smoke or are overweight are all potential candidates having a cardiac stress test prescribed by their doctor. Also, anyone who has ever had a heart operation, will probably have follow-up cardiac stress tests as well. Should you take one or not? Only your doctor can best determine whether it’s a good idea for you. <br/><br/>A special type of cardiac stress test is the thallium stress test. A thallium stress test makes use of a scintillation scan to measure the functionality of the heart. A scintillation scan uses a gamma camera for recording and an intravenously administered radioisotope, thallium-201, to highlight the affected areas of the heart muscle. This allows a physician to pinpoint very accurately the areas of the heart which might not be performing normally. The additional information gained by such a scan is vast. It shows heart muscle scarring, coronary blockages, lung circulation &#8211; just about everything the doctor needs to know to determine if any potential problems are on the horizon. <br/><br/>A scintillation scan can be used while the patient is at rest or while he’s in motion. If used when the patient is exercising, it can highlight the heart contractions and expansions letting the doctor see, in real time, which areas of the coronary arteries might not be receiving enough oxygen. <br/><br/>A normal stress test starts by having the patient hooked up to an electrocardiogram machine. The patient may ride a bike or walk on a treadmill. The symptoms monitored for are &#8211; changes in blood pressure, breathing rate, and heartbeat rate. The technician will also be on the lookout for signs of angina, or chest pain, as well as irregular heart beats. As the test progresses, the incline of the machine will be slowly raised to force the patient to work a little harder. The stress test will normally last between 15 and 20 minutes &#8211; enough time to collect all the pertinent data that the doctor may be interested in. <br/><br/>The blood pressure and heartbeat rate will be measured before and after the stress test as well as the amount of time it takes for both markers to return to their resting rate. <br/><br/>Cardiac stress test are not 100% effective and if you &#8220;fail&#8221; the test, it does not necessarily mean that you have heart problems. About one out of every ten patients falsely test positive for heart problems. That’s why, if the test shows that you have problems, you may be asked to take the test again. <br/><br/></p>

Or possibly it&#8217;s the fact that one fifth of the job force where we work has been let go and we think we might be next. Or maybe it&#8217;s wondering how we can possibly bypass the negative influences of society to raise our children in a moral way. All of these things, and more, are slowly wearing us down and fraying our nerves to the point where we&#8217;re desperately looking for solutions to take some of the stress out of our lives.A primary cause for people being so stressed is the feeling that they have somehow lost control over the important things in their lives. To obtain or regain that control, there are three primary things that you have to have in your life &#8211; money, health, and security.  It&#8217;s easy to be relaxed and stress free when you&#8217;re in control.
