Monday, March 14th, 2011

Relationship stress can be really hard  and stresssful, especially when you are going through a tough in your  life. Managing relationship stress can be difficult if you don’t know how to relax. It can have some adverse effect on your health, your career and your social life if you don’t manage the relationship stress properly. Fortunately, there are some relaxation techniques that can be used to reduce the stress and give your mind some peace.  Here are 10 ways to use relaxation techniques to manage your relationship stress.

1. When you feel extremely stressed or you just had an argument, then go to a room alone and sit down on a sofa or a chair. Sit in an upright position. Then try relaxing your muscles, starting from your feet and moving upwards. When you are stressed your body starts producing chemicals that make our muscles tense. When you relax your muscles you send a signal to the brain that the situation is better now and there is no need for the intense stress.

2. Concentrate on something else rather than the reason that is causing the stress. Although it might seem  hard to concentrate on something else when you have relationship problem but you won’t succeed unless you try. Using step 1 relaxation technique will help you concentrate on relaxing your muscles rather than the stress.

3. Learn to use your hobbies as your solace. There comes a time in relationships when you just want to get away from your partner for a little while and spend some time on your own. It is important to have some hobbies that can do in your spare time which help you to relax.

4. Yoga is one of the best relaxation techniques today. It helps improve your health and teaches you many methods that you can use in your day to day life to feel better. If your partner is interested then both of you can join yoga classes together and learn the techniques to reduce the stress.

5. Relationships often get to a point  when you feel like that there is nothing left in the relationship but fights and arguments. At such times there is very good way to reduce the stress and build your confidence in the relationship. All you have to do is close your eyes and think of the wonderful times you had with your partner. This will help your mind relax and will give you a reason to try to improve your relationship.

6. Aroma therapy is another popular technique used these days by many to reduce stress. Essential oils are used to alter the mood of a person in this therapy. You and your partner can do this together and once both of you are in a good and calm mood you can discuss many things that are difficult to discuss when stressed out.

7. You may have overlooked it all these years but one of the most effective techniques to reduce stress is touch therapy. If you are both stressed out due to some reason, then a simple touch from your loved one can create a lot of difference. Just holding hand with your partner sends a signal to the brain to reduce the stress. If not your partner, then a hug from your kids or parents can do the trick.

8. Breathing techniques are becoming more and more popular these days. They only take about five minutes to perform but can have a very good effect in stress reduction.

9. There are a lot of therapies available in the market that can be used to learn new ways to reduce stress. Mediation is one of those techniques that will always be popular because of its effectiveness. It teaches you to control your thoughts and help achieve a positive attitude towards life.

10. Exercises and healthy food are probably the most underrated stress reduction techniques. They help in many ways to reduce stress. If you can spare some time to run, jog, or swim everyday then you will see the difference yourself. Endurance training is also very effective. Healthy food is extremely important to maintain your health during stressful times.

Relaxation techniques might not find you the exact way to stop your relationship stress altogether, but they will help you reduce the stress that affects your physical and mental functioning. If you are able to reduce the stress and take control over your mind then you will be able to stop your relationship stress once and for all.

Learn How To Manage Your Own Stress

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

As we have said, stress is a part of life. There is no further away. In fact, some stress is good stress. You can not believe, but sometimes stress can motivate us to make things that can not normally in a state of relaxation. Stress can make us brave enough to go forward when we hesitate normally. We must be flexible to cope effectively with stress and to help improve our lives instead of controlling it. How do you get strong and resilient? By learning to take control of your stress and make them work for you instead of against you. Recognizing the symptoms of stress can have a positive influence in that we are obliged to take action – and the sooner the better. It is not always easy to see why you have stress in each situation, but some of the most common emotions that trigger the death of a loved one, birth of a child, promotion of employment, or a new relationship. We experience stress as we readjust our lives. Your body needs your help if you feel these symptoms of stress. We will give you many suggestions in this chapter. Not all of them work for you, but we’re willing to bet that some of them. There are three main approaches to managing stress. The first approach is action oriented. In this method, the problems that cause stress are identified and necessary changes are made for a stress free life. The following approach is emotionally driven and in it, the person overcome the stress by giving a different color from the experience that caused stress. The situation that causes stress, is considered humorous or a different angle. I particularly welcome this approach to stress management. Sometimes, if you do not laugh at a situation, you’ll cry – uncontrollably. This is not a solution. So learn to see the humor instead of the loss. The third way is the approach based on acceptance. This approach focuses on the survival of stress due to a problem in the past. The first hint of stress management is to understand the root cause of your stress. Nobody understands your problem better than you. A few minutes go to recognize your true feelings can completely change the situation. During this process, to identify what triggered the stress. If someone close to your heart is close to share with the person. If you are overstated and feel is going to collapse, take a deep breath and count to ten. These pumps extra oxygen into your system and rejuvenates the entire body. When pressured to think a moment and leave the current situation for some time. Get up from your current position and walk. Stretch yourself. Soon you will find that stress has decreased. That’s because you have relaxed and relaxing is the best remedy against stress. The smile is still another way of managing stress. If you’re at work, just get up and smile at your colleague in the far corner. You will see a change in your mood. Learn some simple yoga or mediation techniques. You can also invent your own stress management tips. The basic idea is to identify the cause of stress and retire him for a moment and then deal with them. Walking short and looking at objects in nature is another remedy against stress. Drink a glass of water or playing small amounts of simple techniques to manage stress. The idea is to change the center of attention and when you return to the problem, it does not seem as monstrous as you felt before.

How To Manage Your Stress With Mind Control

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Sometimes we are not able to escape from our stressors (i.e. if your boss stresses you), but what we all can do is to take a few moments to sit comfortably and melt your stress through mind control.
Mind control can be as powerful as the strongest anti stress medicine that you can find anywhere and it’s a natural way of solving our problems.
Using mind control you can draw on any number of real or imaginary experiences. You can recall a time when you where at peace with blissful surroundings or you can just imagine it and the result will be the same.
Through mind control you can bring yourself into an intensely relaxing situation, because when you picture a pleasant and relaxing scene in your conscious mind, your subconscious mind makes your body react as if you where really there.
And on the other hand if you create an unpleasant and stressful situation, your stress levels will increase as if that where really happening to you.
HOW TO CONTROL YOUR MIND
Begin by sitting in a comfortable chair at a place where you will not be disturbed. Tell your family not to interrupt you while you are practicing your relaxation exercises.
Your brain waves trend to imitate the frequency of the sounds that you hear, so as the Alpha level is the level of the relaxation, you should listen to an Alpha Sound to help your body response.
Locate yourself comfortably in your favorite posture; take a deep breath, and when exhaling feel how a relaxation sensation descends trough all your body.
Relax!
Take another deep breath, and when exhaling feel as a curtain that lowers in your mind and it takes you to a deep sensation of mental peace.
Relax!
Take another deep breath and when exhaling it feel how all your being enters into a more deep, and healthier mental level.
Count from twenty-five to one and as you descend, you will feel entering at a deeper mental level.
Breathe slowly and deeply.
Imagine now that you are amid a dreamt landscape.
Pay attention to the trees and flowers that surround you…
Notice the wild flowers that you find at your step.
Feel the cracking of the floor under your weight…
Perceive how you receive in your face a warm breeze… that it caresses you with the soft perfume of the spring…
Enjoy the total relax for a minute and then concentrate on what you want.
Imagine yourself in possession of your most valuable dream…
Imagine yourself being, making or having, what you want more…
And try to live this desire with the happiness of the achievement…
Represent yourself mentally with all possible detail, how it will change your life with this achievement.
Make your representation so vivid that you can feel the change’s emotion, because there is not bigger force than the emotion.
Every time that you enter at these special mental levels, you will achieve benefic effects for your body and for your mind.
To recapture your usual conscious levels again, count slowly from one to five… giving you time for a leisurely and natural exit…
Practice this exercise each time that you feel stressed (it will work even better if you practice it regularly every day) and all your stress, worries and concerns will be zapped from your body.
Mind control allows you to substitute your actual experience with what you like and want, and during your imagery exercise your stress levels are lessen because you give your body and mind a break and recapture your control over yourself.
Remember that stress and physical relaxation can’t co-exist, and that you will improve the control of your stress each time that you practice the relaxation exercise.
If you can’t practice the whole exercise, close your eyes and take a number of very deep and purposeful breaths, relaxing your body further with each breath out. The stay a little while within your inner peace and that will be an excellent and urgent help too.

Stress Management Tips – How to Manage Stress?

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

We experience a variety of small environmental stresses, job stresses and relationship stresses every day. Mainly, these stresses range from the frustrations of commuting to badly organized workspaces, poor ergonomics, un-cooperative colleagues, and numerous others. While these are small things, they can all add up to make life more stressful – we call this “background stress”. Therefore, when our stress becomes too much that it affects us deeply and/or negatively, we are referring about distress.

After numerous research, scientist believe that stress increases many kinds of cancers, one of the most prominent is breast cancer risk. For me, I believe, that stress increases all risks including family scandal, coronary disease and job loss. In fact, you have a lot more control on your stress level than you might have thought. Just by staying in simple realization that you are in control of your life is the foundation of stress management. Simply concentrate on what makes you feel calm, serene and in control. The most important way to control and manage stress effectively is when we approach it with a clear, calm and positive mind.

Learn to do some meditation to calm and relax your mind and thoughts. Equip your meditation process with proper deep breathing exercises. Sit in a comfortable pose or simply lie flat on your bed. Close your eyes and imagine yourself at the beach or floating on the ocean. Breathe in very deeply until your stomach is inflated, breathe out very slowly until your stomach is deflated. Keep doing this repetitively while focusing on the movement of your stomach when you breathe in deeply and breathe out deeply.

Your body will soon start to relax and go into a peaceful state. Meditation and breathing exercises is proven to overcome stress effectively. Do meditation and breathing exercises twice a day or do them whenever you feel stress and worry. You will definitely benefit considerably if you practise meditation and breathing exercises daily.

Learn to manage your time pacefully and effectively. Modern life, especially people of the current generation’s life requires much of modern men and women. And the main prize for it is stress. Draw out a big picture of what you need to do everyday, like tasks and duties. Keep a To-Do Lists. Simply put, To-Do Lists are prioritized lists of all the tasks that you need to carry out. This list should organize everything you have to do properly, with the most important tasks at the top of the list, and the least important tasks at the bottom.

Next, try to narrow down your list of tasks and duties by dividing them into smaller tasks and do them one at a time. In addition, you have to make sure you have enough time to rest and relax while doing your tasks.

Advantages of Time Management

You will be able to function pretty well if you learn to use your time management skills well. In addition, as you master these skills, you will discover that you can actually take full control of your workload and tasks, and say byebye to the often tremendous stress of work overload in your job.

Make time to listen to quality relaxing music to calm your mind and body. It is proven that soothing and sedative music will bring down the stress level considerably and make a person less prone to stress and anxiety disorder.

Listening to music like classical music is a great way to dis-stress and relax. Sit at your comfortable couch or lie on your bed and simply listen to good music to relax. Listening to music does wonders to alleviate stress. Do this daily and your mind will be able to become immune to stress and worry.

Please note that everyone has different tastes in music. Simply listen to music that you are comfortable with. Never try to force yourself to listen to relaxation music that you do not like as this may create stress, not alleviate it.

Music is always been known to be a natural great healer. Music can change your mood and is acknowledged to be able to relieve stress, anxiety and depression. Playing music in the background while we are working, seemingly unaware of the music itself, has been found to reduce the stress.

Combining music with relaxation therapy was more effective than doing relaxation therapy alone. Hence, take a time off to listen to soothing and relaxation music to make your life less stressful.

Tips to Effectively Manage Stress

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Life today is filled with various kinds of stresses and strains. All of us are trying to cope up with one or the other kind of stress. While most of us manage to keep our chin up and swim through our personal sea of troubles, there are those among us who simply succumb to it and fall prey to the petty issues of life.

The presence of stress and tension robs us of our natural vitality and enthusiasm for life, rendering us dull and grumpy, far reducing our levels of efficiency in all aspects of our life. If we want to start leading a truly happy life, we first need to free our mind of all that accumulated tension. For the body to remain healthy, we first need to control our mind. A healthy mind alone gives rise to a healthy body. We will never be able to achieve our goal until and unless we learn to relax and let go of our own bondage of negativity.

What exactly is relaxation?

Relaxation is not about stopping all activity and shirking work. Quite on the contrary, it is about getting rid of all the negative energies within you, thereby optimizing your energies to get the most possible success and happiness out of your life. Relaxation is all about understanding and accepting the various challenges thrown at you, with a balanced outlook, without getting upset at the slightest provocation.

You can get your life back on track by employing various methods of relaxation, some of which are discussed in detail below:

• Meditation

Meditation, which is about mental control and exercising the mind to remain still, is indeed one of the best ways to manage stress. While meditation does not help in changing life circumstances, what is does is to teach you enough mind control to tackle difficult and unexpected events in your life. This ancient relaxation technique, practically a way of life with the people of the Indian sub-continent and the whole of the Orient, is a method of focusing oneself on the ‘Higher Self’, thus remaining unruffled by mundane, day-to-day events of life.

Meditation is best performed in complete silence, controlling breathing patterns in a certain prescribed method.

• Relaxation by way of visualization

You can effectively use projected mental images to ease your way out of mental and physical stress. Practicing visualization techniques for relaxation helps bestow tremendous peace on the mind. For instance, if you feel stressed out at work and are dying for a break, you could close your eyes and picture yourself watching a glorious waterfront sunset at some exotic destination. It will immediately relax your mind and put it to rest at least for the time being!

• Progressive relaxation

With this technique, you can achieve total relaxation by consciously tensing and releasing your muscles one by one, giving your body a sense of complete ease and comfort. This technique is especially useful to tackle several types of common aches and pains.

• Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a recent and much-debated technique to achieve relaxation, which requires you to observe and formally record your mind-body responses with the help of certain medical equipment. While there are many who swear by this method, there are an equal number of other experts who do not at all recommend this technique of mind control.

The above are only a handful of techniques you can employ for relaxation. Here is a word of caution. Do visit your healthcare professional before you choose any one method. There are some mental control techniques that require you to get a clean health chit from your doctor, especially if you are suffering from some medical disorder. Some techniques might actually end up changing your physiology in some way if taken to the extreme. So always be moderate in your approach and go slow and steady with your progress.
