Workplace is a stressful place, almost every time you need to interact with different stressors. We cannot possibly avoid stress, so it is crucial that we should know how to deal with it. It all boils down to the way you manage stress in your everyday life. In most of the cases, you can simply avoid being distressed just implementing proper management of stress. This article tries to explore various features of stress in different places and what methodologies we can adopt in dealing with stress. At Home
‘Home sweet home’ is an old saying that has great significance. If you do not find peace at your own home, you may not find it anywhere on earth. You may not have the flexibility of clear mind so that you become able to focus on any aspect in addition to physical discomfort as well. Stress at home primarily affects children too intensely. Most of the cases, we can see parents in the modern world simply put their children in an invisible race. Their days start with strict commands such as ‘get up now’, ‘start studying’, ‘hurry up’, ‘be fast, you will be late for school,’ etc. etc.
Additionally, if parents have their own conflict, it also offers added stress to children at home. Result is quite evident and inevitable such as drugs, violence, suicide, etc. Not necessarily parents always promote stress to their child’s life, it is not at all intentional, but it happens, sometime in a very subtle and unavoidable form, say for example, stress due to peer conflict. So it is the duty of the parents to let their child grow with techniques that help them dealing with stress.
The parents should understand the perspective of their child. Their attitude towards their children should be empathetic and this is the first phase to let them develop dealing with stress. Parents should also implement useful stress management techniques such as meditation and relaxation in their own lives so that they can possibly avoid the adverse effects of stressful encounter. All the family members should employ an environment free from any conflict along with a freedom of opinion and choice. Essentially it is the integral role of the head of the family to employ such environment with the family so that all the family members can face the stressful situation if it occurs to any of the member’s life. Needless to say, it is the most effective way in dealing with stress at home. At Workplace
In modern days, stress related to workplace has become a serious threat to the worker’s health and mind. It not only affects an individual psychologically, but also it promotes serious physical health hazards in due course of time. It is not only true for people who go to office for work, but it is also applicable for people who work from home even. It makes people exhausted and irritated gradually in time. While dealing with stress at your workplace, the first thing you should know is how to manage your time.
You need to prioritize your tasks and set a realistic goal always. Managing time is a crucial factor for triggering stress at workplace. Email, chat and phone distract the concentration and disrupt workflow, hence kills the time. You should keep yourself away from all these things at least while you are focusing on your task. Managing your time is an effective way in dealing with stress at workplace. You should be careful about your food at workplace, it matters a lot. Many of us simply avoid taking healthy food at work; rather depend on junk food or fast food. This results in health complications, leading to stress in life. You should not forget to take a break, even it is little, but it may help you out of being overstressed. Feeling exhausted at workplace is not a sign of weakness, but it is a warning sign of being stressed out. You should act on it before it gets too late.
Dealing With Stressors In The Workplace
Monday, February 8th, 2010Someone said that stress is the poison of human life. Now, more than ever, this rings true for most people. They cannot carry easily and well today’s duties and work responsibilities if they pile anxiety and stress concerning other plans on top of them. But as accepted in society, stress and anxiety are facts of modern life. Despite the technological and medical advancements, people still feel the pressure to keep up. With the endless pressures and demands on one’s time, getting stressed out is a given fact.Causes of stress for employees are, of course, work related. There is a wide range of examples to learn from. From a bully of a boss to payments due for a utility bill, these things added pressure to an already stressed employee. For the obstinate boss, having a dialogue is a positive step to address workplace tension. For the payment dues, taking out a faxless payday loan would solve the problem with 24 hours, or even less. However, what people don’t fully understand is sometimes stress is not always a negative thing. There is a certain type of stress that pushes employees to perform well. According to experts on organizational development and training, positive stress is called eustress. This unique word is coined by Hans Selye, a Canadian endocrinologist. This kind of positive stress comes from desirable events that happen in a person’s life, like preparing for a wedding or the birth of a child. Another source of positive stress, or eustress, is working on a promotion. It may be stressful to the employee but at the same time fulfilling and has rewards. However, during these financially shaky times, employees experience a lot of stress from their work tasks as well as from their job security. This debilitating type of stress can be really physically taxing and it involves distress instead of happiness. Distress happens when one has a prolonged increased level of adrenalin or jumps in prolonged physically taxing activities. The common causes of stressors are environmental stressor (present through irritating elements in one’s work or living space), emotional stressor from a relationship (being too consumed with work may affect one’s relationship with others), mental stressor (these results from too many tasks and responsibilities with very little time to accomplish them), and physical stressor (results from extended work hours, sleeping late, not enough rest, and the like). One must be able to identify the kind of stressor pressing him or her down. After pinpointing it, people should learn how to manage such stressors.

People suffer from stress from time to time. When stressed, you may feel worried, anxious, upset or sad. There are many situations that can make you feel stressed, such as home work and exams. You may feel that it is taking forever to complete a piece of work or you don’t know or understand what you are supposed to do. When revising for exams, you may feel that you need to do lots of revision in a short space of time or feel unprepared even after spending several days revising.
There are many things you can do to help you cope with the stress of home work and exams. Talking to a teacher, parent or friend about how you feel can really help and they can give you advice or tips on what to do. It is important that you find ways of coping with home work and exams that work best for you. People have different ways of learning so what works well for one person may not necessary work for you.
If you are having difficulties with homework, make sure you speak to your teacher about what you are expected to do and whether there are ways in which you can be supported such as working with another student or using relevant books. If you are worried about exams, make sure that you start revising well in advance, don’t leave revision to the last minute. Devise a revision timetable and take notes on important points when revising. It may help to go over what you have revised with your peers so that you can test each other about what you have learnt.
It is important that you eat well, drink water and get lots of rest, especially the night before your exams; and ask for help if there are things you do not understand.
