Many do not know, but the hand massage therapy has been around for a very long time. In addition to our face, our hands are the most noted of our body and often reveal the true age of a person who appears to be younger. Therefore, proper maintenance of our hands is of vital importance – not only to maintain the appearance of them – but to strengthen and heal, and other body parts they affect.
Hand massage was developed by an acupuncturist in Korea when he discovered that the entire body could be matched with the hand. He then developed a form of acupuncture in hand (including the concept that the body is reflected on the hand) was the basis of therapy today hand massage non-acupuncture.
So how does a hand massage to reduce stress? In the process, endorphins are released that realign the symmetry of your body. Not only a hand massage is a wonderful way to relax the hands, but he healed them by:
Increase traffic in your hands;
Revive your skin elasticity;
increase flexibility and relieve stiffness;
Mobilize your joints;
Strengthening muscle tone in your hands;
Prevent RSI.
In today’s world, the popularity of massage therapy increased to the fight against stress and pressure on our hands by all the new high labor intensity such as SMS, video games, keyboards computer, etc. While traditionally less popular than the foot massage, massage hand is built on theories and similar technologies provide proven benefits of its own.
If you use your hands a lot during a given day – and most of us do in our workplace – you’ve probably experienced the tension and pain associated with your work. If you spend most of your typing day – for example – a hand massage can relieve the effects caused by the excessive use of a computer keyboard. In just 5 to 10 minutes, one can feel a much needed relief, this provision only aggravates the popularity of massage of the hands of people of all ages.
If you are familiar with reflexology, you know that a hand massage can relieve stress and tension in various other parts of the body. As mentioned earlier, it was found that different parts of the hand have “access” to others – often remote – parts of our body. Thus, during a massage, hand the reception area of the pressure is certainly a target, but also other body parts “link” to that area of the hand. A qualified therapist can treat pain in head and neck, arthritis and poor circulation running in specific areas of the hand while administering a hand massage.
Here is a list of some of the evils that can be treated by a hand massage:
Addiction and thirst;
Colds and flu;
reflexes sexual energy;
Back pain;
mental energy;
immune system.
Although hand massage do-it-yourself is popular, having been a registered massage therapist provides the maximum benefits. Nothing can compare to the hands of a professional.

OSHO: Awareness – Being in the Moment
Saturday, July 24th, 2010
OSHO International Foundation – www.osho.com This is an excerpt (part 2 of 4) from a video “Stress Free Living-Meditation For Busy Women”. Part 1 is titled OSHO Everyday Meditation. Maneesha James presents strategies to avoid and reduce stress, and meditative methods to unwind, based on ‘The Book of Secrets’, by Osho. Usually we think of the body and mind as being two separate parts of ourselves. But in reality they’re two aspects of one integrated whole. So when there’s stress in the mind, that will be reflected in the body, and when the body’s feeling tense, that will come in the way of the mind being calm. Through meditation we can learn to work with, rather than against the bodymind, and how to bring together the qualities of relaxation and awareness.
The Stress Of Being A Mother
Monday, July 12th, 2010A woman’s work is never done, especially if she is a mother if she is a working mother or mother at home. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work from home, which means that there are all sorts of jobs around the house all the time. Today is Tuesday and I’m currently sitting in the waiting room while my son has a dental implant, this trip was an hour from home. Yesterday we went with my son for a piano audition to see if it would be permissible in the music program at the University that he will attend next year, which is also an hour away in another direction. On Friday and Saturday we drove four hours to see our oldest son play college baseball. What I noticed is that I have many things happening, especially this time of year and I feel relatively stress free, I attribute that to my Q-Link pendant.
This is my second year of wearing a QLink pendant and I noticed an improvement in my class, all the well-being. It helps me focus, levels of resistance and stress. Friends have noticed a change in me and ask what I’m doing differently. I can only say that I noticed a difference since I started wearing my Q-Link pendant. What a Q-Link pendant, you can ask. Q-Link pendant works to optimize the functioning of the body. When you wear a Q-Link pendant that balances and strengthens the body’s energy system, helping you reach peak levels physically, mentally and emotionally.
This past weekend while we were in the park waiting for the ball game starts, I reflected on my last four days. I had to do my bookkeeping for our business, including making my monthly reports to my accountant. There was work to Don E on my internet business and website. Then there were all the other chores, including cleaning, laundry, cooking, leaving the grocery store for my son who was staying at home, buying our drinks and snacks for the drive and I would buy drinks and snacks for my son when he is on the road to his hotel room and return by bus to school. In addition to this, I went to the gym a couple of times and volunteered at the elementary school.
This time of year is very hectic for us because it is our busiest time of year for our company and we try to travel to as many games as we can our son on weekends. We also support our youngest son to his efforts to music and graduated in May, so we’re very busy. For me to enjoy my work in a timely and efficient, I have to concentrate and stay focused. Since I’m wearing the Q-Link pendant, I am able to concentrate and, consequently, better performance with my work and all my tasks. Sometimes I’m amazed how I am for peace and ease, so I want to share my experience with others and we hope they can find relief from wearing a Q-Link pendant or bracelet.

How to Pass Your Own Stress Test during the Hard Times without being a Bank
Sunday, March 28th, 2010So the governments are giving the banks stress tests? What about us? This is as if material things are more important than us—is there any love here? One wonders. You may also be wondering where your next meal will be coming from, or whether you will get another job…
And you may not be sure whether you will get the custody of your child if you have just received a divorce notice–common if you lose your job. Then, this related and usually forgotten one (but equally important): you may have just been rejected by a loved one or a prospective love.
Such may be the diversity of the issues that you may feel boxed into at the moment–and you may be shy to seek help (not all of us go about cleaning our linen in the public)…
The bottom line of all this is that no single government may have offered you the stress test and least likely is a confidential one. In this situation you may be better off turning to the following strategies:
1. Turn to the Social Readjustment Rating Scale:
Scientists (they seem to care more) have developed an approach which assesses the effects of stressors according to life changes or events in our lives. On this scale, your crisis can be scored from zero to hundred depending on its rating. The more crises you are in the more the score. An additive score of 300 and above requires professional help.
2. Use the Burn out scale:
You may already be displaying signs and symptoms of stress but you may not realize their significance. This is understandable because most of the signs and symptoms are common for many other ailments including ‘flu’ (a sensitive area that we will not touch today). Such symptoms can be rated on the so-called Burn Out scale, thanks to the above guys once again.
3. Take Personality Tests:
Some personalities are known to deal with stressors more effectively than others—and understandably so. So finding out what your exact personality actually is will help you know where you stand. Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom…Tao Te Ching. One such test can be found at www.personality100.com if a psychologist is hard to come by.
Taking these tests is only a beginning. When we take tests, all of us want to pass. Passing these tests will mean that we deal with our stressors more effectively prior to these tests. One sure way is to engage in the following techniques:
4. Intellectualization
If you sit down and figure out your real problems, you will be better able to deal with your crisis. Instead of using emotion, be objective to calculate the issues at hand. This is known as intellectualization. Sit down, get a pen and jot some notes–make some divisions, subtractions, multiplications and additions. You may just solve the jig-saw puzzle. This way, you will be better able to cope with your stress, meaning that you will be better able to score high on the tests.
5. Rationalization:
Rationalization may then need to be engaged, here you may have to re-adjust your thoughts and believes about life. You may have to come to terms with things you previously never considered highly. And those you believed in may have to be dropped altogether—that’s life. This means that you will need to come up with plausible justifications for your new approach in life to convince yourself. This is called rationalization.
6. Modify Diet.
There are many other techniques available but for quick help we will limit ourselves to a few which must include dietary modifications. Foods containing caffeine must be avoided. Many of these are popular including coffee, coke and chocolate and it may be hard to change. Alcohol and tobacco are obvious taboos in stress management.
All theses strategies and many more are conveniently explained in the concise and interactive book, ’7 Proven Steps: How to Defeat Stress without Going Through the Embarrassment of Counseling’ available on Amazon and other major bookstores.
Managing Well Being to Naturally Manage Stress
Saturday, March 13th, 2010Managing stress is becoming more important as our environment becomes more tension-inducing every year. From traffic jams to work-related stress, there are more stimuli that can make the heart race and the adrenaline flow than at any time in the past.
What is the best way to improve physical and psychological well-being?
Exercise is a proven stress-reliever. It releases endorphins that counteract stress hormones, and improve mood. It’s always difficult to start an exercise program, so it makes sense to start gradually and work your way up. Stretching and flexing the muscles in the neck, back, shoulders, arms and abdomen help to take away tension and make it easier for the muscles to relax. Exercises that improve cardiovascular function benefit the heart and lungs and affect the blood. This causes chemical changes in the body and the release of and balance of hormones that improve overall mood. Starting and sticking with a regular exercise plan also encourages a healthy concept of self, giving one a better outlook on things and a line of defense against stressors.
There are also relaxation techniques, or exercises that are extremely helpful in managing and reducing stress. One such technique is trying to touch the shoulder to the ears. Hold your shoulder for a few seconds and then let the shoulders drop. Rotate one shoulder toward the rear and then the other, do each shoulder up to ten times and then do both shoulders together.
Another exercise that is good for relaxing and good for the body is to lie down with knees bent, press the back down so that all parts of the back touch the surface, while doing so pull in hard on the stomach muscles. Then just relax them. This helps to let go of tension as well as firm abdominal muscles and strengthens the back. Many people find specific exercise programs such as Pilates, tai chi and yoga to be very relaxing.
Getting adequate sleep can do wonders for the body and mind. Just going to bed a half an hour earlier at night, or taking a short nap during the day, can reenergize the body and recharge the mind, If you’ve had enough sleep, you can make clear, thoughtful decisions.
If a nap is not possible make sure you take time to relax or take a break. Even a fifteen minute respite from work, school, or regular daily activities is advisable for quiet, privacy and introspection.
Taking a brisk walk or even just going outside or to another room, the change in scenery can eliminate existing stress or to counter it before it gets to be too much.
It is also necessary to eat properly. Eat an adequate and nutritious breakfast each day. Hunger cannot only leave you less able to cope with stress but can also be considered a stressor in itself. It is also important to make sure to eat a well balanced diet for optimal health.
Avoiding or reducing the consumption of caffeine containing substances is a simple and effective way to reduce tension and stress. Caffeine stimulates the sympathetic nervous system in a similar fashion as stress as do other substances like alcohol and tobacco that people often use as a means of reducing stress.
