Stress Test: Getting to the Root Cause of your Stress
By admin on May 23, 2010, 4:33 amHere’s what you should do. Schedule time and lock you up for at least one hour. A quiet place. Turn off your mobile phone, television and devote this time to you.
You do not need to sit cross-legged on the floor for this, but I want you to do some contemplation. Think about your daily life. Run the video in your mind. Take you through a typical week. But attention to your feelings. Where is the grid?
What do you have negative feelings about any part of your regular schedule? What are the feelings? Why do you think this way? Maybe a job that you liked 5 years ago is now just a grind 9 to 5. Why? What happened?
Write it down. All your thoughts. Try to identify where in your life you are stressed and why. Then I want you to keep a journal next week. If you think this period of contemplation often during the next week, I guarantee that you will find many questions or problems. Write them in your calendar.
At the end of the week, you should have a complete list of your stressors or pressure points.
You can also find a combination of circumstances push the limits of your ability to adapt naturally. And remember that recent move or job redundancy.
