I hate war. It should only be used for self defence, nothing more, and what’s defined as self defence should be very carefully defined. Everyone, the world over, should just abandon war. Its not good. I’m glad that they’re developing non-chemical treatments for these disorders.

Medications help, I teake Trazodone at bedtime. It helps me get a deep sleep and keeps me anxiety free, Between good sleep and less anxiety I am able to function better. However, I have alot of therapy in my past. Was diagnosed in 1990

Is it possible to train just one wave group, say theta and allow the other brain waves to stay put. I will ask my trainer this anyway, just recently started nfb couple months ago, doing really well but theta is still proportionately much higher than the rest. I have a TBI and apparently this is common. It makes a lot of sence to get everything tidy and then exclusively train the theta to get down to the rest of the group. Would love to know if that is doable. Thanks

Meditation has helped me too, but I am still weary of systems that sell it through propaganda. Meditation is a very simple practice and can be done on your own. If you need help with it, please get your brain checked.

Just now looking into EEG – but have used EMDR in the past with about 80% success.

  12. DJRoxi says:

What is CBT? I have just been diagnosed with CPTSD and am doing stage one work with Sandtray, as the emdr is too in depth and dfficult for me to deal with.
Is there any kind of specific meditation that you would suggest?

When the adrenal gland is aroused the frontal lobe of the brain is activated. Too much living in an adrenaline-rush-mindset can result in problems with emotions and memory. I’m not talking about say going skydiving and rock-climbing. Our brains are organs, and produce adrenaline for a reason. Like meditation, it is not bad in moderation. Because emotions and memory are both controlled at the base of the brain, working to regain memory after trauma can help with mental stability.

  15. anon3415 says:

Meditation has been shown to result in chronic fatigue syndrome if practiced extensively through adolescense, many people have developed vulnerability to panic attacts and sucidal actions/thoughts after meditation camps. 90% of the time it isn’t harmful at all; however, what turns it in that direction is a mindset of excessive preoccupation, not unlike that of EEG “practitioners.” Also, it is not possible to control one’s brain waves. It is helpful however to know what does.

I think there is a lot to be said for EEG – I’ve been looking into it and from what I can gather it would seem if a person can learn to control their brain waves that in turn can help control aspects of the brain perviously uncontrolable. The process is not dissimilar to meditation.

Rapid eye movement crap? You dont want to know what I think. But… I probably found a way to go around it. LOL

Depends on what Im usually thinking about… which is weird… at times certain moments when doing this. My ears ring right after certain things happen.

I think quite the contrary – the medical “establishment” doesn’t WANT something like this – a basically simple training of the mind – to become mainstream. It would cost them billions of dollars. Read some of the comments that were made further down the list by others who have actually experienced firsthand what neurofeedback did for them. Speaking for myself, I don’t have any major disorders, but it truly has made me a happier person, and a better disc golfer!

Pathetic… scam trying to hurt us who already suffer from PTSD over monetary greed!
