This phone scratches easily my n97 got scratched less than one week
this test is shit … i scratched my phone within a week while having it in my pocket with my key chain ….. so please if you are going to do a proper test on a N97 … try to be objective and apply some actual stress and i promise you it will give away ..
Turn your smartphone into safe with Black & White Guard!
hey, I just wanted ot say that I have planned to get this phone…sooner or later, but I have a lil bit of doubts now…
On the bright side, I duno if it helps, but I saw some other comments and they said something about updating their phone and some about getting through the firewall. Then they said it worked really well after that, maybe that helps you? (and ya, I’m not this phone’s owner…yet XD)
I scratched it once with it’s stylus, it actually has a plastic joint, you may easily give a scratch to the screen by simply touching it.
Why isn’t anybody making a stress test video for Nokia 5530? I have one and I want to know how much it takes to break it.
Me and my friend compared the thickness of my iphone and his n97 and my iphone was half the thickness of his n97. I’m not saying the iphone is better I’m just saying the iphone is not a brick.
i have this phone. but while it was updating i touched the usb cable den it lost conection . i cant be turned on now -.- nao its under repair, but its a very nice phone
same with me
@hyraxaus: i take back that its shit, but for many people, its still very buggy, for instance, my phone won’t even turn on, i have to hard reset it every time it turns itself off. which is does very frequently. I understand that people may not have any problems with the phone, but in my opinon, and thats all it is, is an opinion, the phone isn’t all its cracked up to be. I’m on orange, and even they said that they aren’t going to sell it, because it failed to pass their tests! I’m not alone here
The Display of my Nokia N97 has a deep scratch -.-!
you don’t have to break the phone you can give it to me =D
but anyway I love this phone!!
& thanks for the tests.
Yes the phone doesnt get scratched at all, but after a few months you get a scratched chrome rim. its not shiny any more but it depends on how you care this phone
Really? if thats true then thats good news. But still,
I’m too friggin scared about my phone s real screen having scratches LOL!!!!!!
BTW I could scratch it if I really want to. I have a diamond ring
I’m getting this phone tomorrow, can I play GBA games on it? Should I remove the foil from the screen? THX!
Ok now were gona do a quick scwatch test.
OMG!
Yeah same here…
Thing is though, the iPhone is getting better. Even it’s built in features are getting improved. Like the Camera.
I’d like to see the N97 get good video editing features with the good camera.
Unless there’s already good editing applications that i havent found??
THIS PHONE DOES NOT GET SCRATCHED!!! I’ve had one for a month now, and it always sits in my pocket with my house keys and sometimes loose change. its very durable
@AlmirJVAlix: Had my N97 for over two months now without the plastic shield that came with the phone and I don’t have a single scratch on it. The phone always sits loosely in my pocket too.
I would perhaps suggest that the OP perhaps re-do the test with the phone on an angle if that is what it takes to convince you that the video is not fake?
@stoneheartjp13: Yeah, the plastic shield that came with the phone is easily scratched by your finger nails. I found that myself. After removing the shield and going direct to glass, there are absolutely no scratches caused by my nails now and response from the touchscreen is far better too – less “missed taps” and easier to scroll from the edge of screen.
@CAREMUCH23: Agreed. At the end of the day, it’s the software that really makes the hardware shine. There are some nice pretty apps on the Ovi Store, but they are largely “useless” apps written by one single company – Offscreen. We need some genuinely useful apps to push the N97.
I would say the only thing really keeping the N97 in the spotlight is simply its ability to multi-task. It’s amazing how many iPhone users wow just at that fact alone when they have a play with my N97.
@2001urchm: I have the phone – it’s far from shit and I use a lot of its functions regularly, including as a broadband modem. Personally I haven’t experienced any of the issues I’ve read other people having. Mind you, I am on the v20 firmware too which I believe fixed many issues people had under v11 and v12.
