Tension, stress, distress, worries etc are states of the mind that are unavoidable. No human in this world is free from all of these ailments and that is why it is very important to do something that help in managing stress.  There are various reasons that give raise to stressful conditions. Some may have sales’ pressure and others may have great job responsibilities; for students, they get stress whenever they have exams or some important assignments. Many professional people may undergo stress whenever they have some business presentation or launch of some prime products.  All in all, managing stress is very important as stress may not affect any body part or organ directly, but over the time, it may start involving body, mind and soul. As a result of this, an individual suffering from stress may find it difficult to cope it up with daily routine and finally the whole schedule gets disturbed.  Managing stress is quite possible if an individual takes care of the diet, lifestyle, sleeping pattern, meal timings, and some other precautionary measurements. Managing stress can be done in two ways – internal therapy and external therapy. However, it is recommended that a person can manage stress if both such therapies are applied.  Managing stress through external therapy includes some alternative therapies such as Ayurveda. Ayurveda has something called Shirodhara that is considered to be very useful in managing stress. In this procedure, the medicated material (solution) is poured onto the forehead in a particular, unique fashion. This helps in calming down the aggressive mood and also it helps restoring the brain chemistry. Another such therapy includes is Nasyam wherein, medicated drops are put into the nostrils so that they cleanse off the entire area.  Internal therapy for managing stress include intake of specialized medicated herbal extracts in the form of capsules, pills, granules, powder etc. However, in order to get good results, one has to undergo these therapies for a certain period of time.  Many health care providers, especially holistic health care providers believe that managing stress is easy if an individual practices some holistic exercises such as yogasanas, Pranayama etc. Pranayama is a breathing technique through which, the body gets in harmony of enzymes and hormones. Alternative therapies such as massage are also found to be very relaxing and hence can be used in managing stress. Massaging in a proper way helps in improving the blood circulation and hence it not only relieves the tension but also helps in alleviating other bodily ailments.  The market is full of herbal or natural supplements that help in managing stress. In Ayurveda, herbs like Brahmi, Ashwgandha, Shatavari, Mandookparni, Shankhpushpi, Vacha etc have been used to treat various health ailments including mental stress. These herbs can be taken as single herb or one can go for some product that contains blend of these herbs.  Proper dietary pattern, regular and healthy lifestyle, meditation and exercises on regular basis- these all help in managing stress in a positive manner. One has to have optimistic nature and think always positive in order to remain in best of the health.
